La Tejedora organizó su primer Encuentro Nacional de Jóvenes, donde más de una docena de jóvenes de todo el archipiélago se reunieron durante un fin de semana que incluyó desarrollo de liderazgo y reflexión estratégica sobre campañas lideradas por jóvenes que pueden tener un gran impacto en los residentes de la isla. Las prioridades identificadas por estos jóvenes incluyeron la necesidad de cambiar las políticas en el Departamento local de Agricultura para apoyar a los pequeños agricultores y pescadores en su búsqueda de producir alimentos locales, sostener a sus familias y conservar sus tierras y pesquerías. Los jóvenes también priorizaron la necesidad de prevenir la gentrificación en Puerto Rico trabajando para desafiar el desplazamiento rápido de los puertorriqueños mediante la evasión fiscal de lala Ley 22. Ambas campañas se lanzarán el próximo año y fomentarán la participación de los jóvenes en estos temas en todo el archipiélago.
