Coco Killingsworth
Coco Killingsworth currently serves as Chief Experience and Impact Officer at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), where she has led diverse initiatives including education, community engagement, and strategic programming. Her leadership extends to overseeing some of BAM’s most cherished events, such as DanceAfrica, the Annual Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and BAMcafé Live. During her tenure as interim co-president, she played a crucial role in BAM’s reopening from February 2021 to June 2022.
Coco also chairs the Cultural Institutions Group, a coalition of 34 cultural institutions across NYC. Her career spans impactful roles in education and leadership development, including Deputy Director at Global Kids, Inc. Coco’s deep roots in community-building and cultural advocacy make her a fantastic addition to our team. She resides in Brooklyn with her husband, Eris Johnson-Smith, and their two children.
