Confronting Plutocracy

That is why The Action Lab invited Argentine political leaders Juan Grabois—activist, former presidential pre-candidate, and founder of the Excluded Workers Movement (MTE)—and Itai Hagman—economist, national elected representative, and advocate for economic justice and Universal Basic Income—to discuss effective strategies of resistance to plutocracy through politics, grassroots organizing, and collective action. The conversation traversed lots of interesting terrain, including campaign organization, political education, and transnational solidarity. We co-hosted the event with the Initiative for Community Power, Urban Democracy Lab, and NYU’s Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
