The Action Lab is thrilled to announce the launch of Small Business United (SBU), a New York statewide coalition organizing to establish commercial rent protections for small business owners across New York City. SBU is advocating for policies like the Small Business Rent Stabilization Act (SBRSA) in the New York State Assembly, which would create a Commercial Rent Guidelines Board and lease renewal rights for commercial tenants. SBU is hosting a launch event with legislators, business owners, and coalition members at the iconic Jimmy’s Corner (140 W 44th St, New York, NY 10036) on April 10, 2026 at 11:30 am.
