Freedom Forward Film Series

A collage of posters for films about social justice

The Action Lab’s Freedom Forward Film Series showcases social justice films. The series offers a space for reflection on histories of collective struggle, the hope that drives them, and freedom on the horizon. The series is intended to serve as a political education space which nourishes and inspires future action, solidarity, and creativity as we build a more just and equitable world. All film screenings are free and open to the public. Our film series is curated by a stellar group of organizer-artists and cultural producers and have served as enriching scaffolding and counterparts to The Action Lab’s ongoing work and the campaigns of our growing number of partners. In addition to serving the organizers, artists, and other practitioners with whom we are working, Freedom Forward has brought hundreds of guests into our orbit, in both physical and virtual spaces, and has given them the opportunity to engage with the filmmakers, cast members, and subjects of some of the finest social justice films of our day.
