Liberation Summer
Inaugurated in 2023, as a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop and resistance to neoliberalism, Liberation Summer is a powerful and inspiring series of events, conversations, workshops and concerts. Whether it was connecting the legendary PopMaster Fabel to Chilean Hip Hop pioneer Lalo Meneses, or hearing the group A Desalambrar musically remind us of the strength of Victor Jara -- events like the Nueva Cancion to Hip Hop, Del Sur Pal Caribe, and our NYC launch event brought together different generations around the same struggle. Liberation Summer offered arts classes to youth, the culture of hip hop and beyond, and built with partners working to uplift emerging and underrepresented artists.
